According to Adrian Sanchez, while Barcelona are actively looking for a new head coach, they have not made a formal offer to any manager as of today.

So far, several names, such as Hansi Flick, Roberto De Zerbi, Jurgen Klopp, and Thomas Tuchel, among others have been linked with Barcelona.

However, given the obvious financial constraints the team has, the management has not been able to find a suitable replacement who possesses the Barça DNA.

What has been learned from Barcelona’s trend is that the team from Catalonia is inclining towards a German philosophy.

While acquiring Klopp remains a prominent yet distant dream, the likes of Tuchel and Flick are said to be quite appealing to the Catalans.

Troubles with the new manager

Barcelona face a challenging transition post-Xavi’s era. The Catalan team has steered every transfer negotiation under Deco, and while the sporting director has performed adequately, the compatibility of his choices with the new coach’s vision remains uncertain.

Notably, only three players — Pedri, Gavi, and Ronald Araujo — are deemed non-transferable in the current squad, as financial constraints tied to the Financial Fair Play regulations necessitate the potential sale of other players.

The complication of assuming the Barcelona managerial role lies in the dual challenge of aligning with Deco’s decisions and operating within a constrained budget. The new manager must overcome these hurdles to lead the team successfully in the post-Xavi era.

Is Flick hinting towards Barcelona move?

Among all the contenders Barcelona have identified, Flick has become the talking point of the matter mostly because the German recently joined hands with Pini Zahavi, who also happens to represent a certain Robert Lewandowski.

While things may be blowing out of context as of today, changing the representation does raise a few eyebrows and collaborating with Zahavi could be beneficial for Barcelona since the football agent shares a good relationship with president Joan Laporta.
