The summer transfer window is only a few months away and as far as FC Barcelona are concerned, the signing of a new left-winger has been identified as a priority.
Indeed, the Blaugrana sporting management, led by director Deco, sees the acquisition of a top-quality winger to reinforce the left flank as a matter of utmost necessity.
Several names have already been touted as potential targets with AC Milan winger Rafael Leao and Liverpool ace Luis Diaz among those.
Barcelona genuinely admire Luis Diaz
Providing an update on the situation, The Athletic’s David Ornstein states that Barcelona hold genuine admiration for Luis Diaz amidst continued links to the Liverpool and Colombia speedster.
It must be remembered that Barcelona had tried to sign Diaz when he was still at FC Porto, before leaving for Liverpool in January 2022.

The Blaugrana had also been linked with a move for the Colombian international last year as well but nothing came of it.
However, Deco & co. continue to monitor his situation at Anfield with the hope of making a move in the summer, finances permitting.
Recent reports even suggested that there had been contacts between the La Liga leaders and Diaz’s camp to explore the possibility of a summer transfer.
Diaz, who has 13 goals and five assists from 41 matches this season, has a contract with Liverpool that expires in 2027.
After a period of stagnation in talks over a renewal, things seem to be progressing in the right direction – a development that will make things difficult for Barcelona.
For now, Barcelona continue to keep an eye on the 28-year-old’s situation at Liverpool, waiting to move if talks over a new deal between him and Liverpool fail to progress.
