Last night, FC Barcelona were dealt another fresh setback as forward Ferran Torres suffered a hamstring injury just four minutes into the game against CA Osasuna.

The 23-year-old attacker had been in good nick prior to last night’s incident and left the pitch in tears after sustaining the injury, raising alarms in the Barça camp.

The injury, however, does not appear to be very serious, but Torres is still expected to be out for around a month or so.

Torres will push himself to return for Napoli match

The initial recovery timeline would mean that Ferran would be ruled out of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg tie against Napoli.

But, according to a fresh report from Santi Ovalle on SER, Torres is eager to be back in time to face Napoli and will push himself hard in rehabilitation to make it happen.

Barcelona face off against the Partenopei in the Champions League first-leg tie away at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in less than three weeks on February 21.

The update states that Torres would be out for around three to four weeks, meaning even if his recovery is sped up, it would still be touch and go for him to play against Napoli.

But the former Manchester City man is prepared to do everything required and push himself so as to help Xavi & co. against the reigning champions of Serie A later this month.

Torres’ good season

It has not always been easy for Torres at Barcelona since his arrival in January 2022. But the forward had been enjoying a good campaign thus far, prior to getting injured.

In 32 games in all competitions, the 23-year-old has netted 11 goals and set up four more, proving to be a valuable asset for Xavi.

And, Barcelona will be eager to have their attacking star back up and running at the earliest possible.
