The Barcelona management is bracing for a busy few months ahead as they look to find an ideal replacement for Xavi Hernandez.

The Spaniard has decided to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, and the onus is now on the Barça board to churn through potential managerial options.

Barcelona keeping tabs on Roberto De Zerbi

Quite unsurprisingly, a host of names have come up in the Barcelona circles lately, including the likes of Imanol Alguacil and Luis Enrique, among others.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has issued a key update on Barcelona’s hunt for a new manager. The Italian journalist claims that the club are keeping close tabs on Roberto De Zerbi.

Romano suggests that De Zerbi’s name will revolve around the Barcelona management for quite some time now. The same stands for the Liverpool management, as the Reds are also looking for a replacement for the departing Jurgen Klopp.

Interestingly, Barcelona are among the clubs in contention to approach Klopp, although it remains to be seen whether the German will be open to new jobs in the coming summer.

Barcelona not serious about Marquez and Motta

Other than De Zerbi and Klopp, other names that have been linked with moves to Barcelona are Rafael Marquez and Thiago Motta.

Romano, though, clarifies that Barcelona are not quite serious about approaching either Motta or Marquez.

Marquez is currently coaching the Barça Athletic side. Even though the Mexican coach is open to replacing Xavi next season, it seems Barcelona are looking for other options.

As for Motta, the Italian has recently denied any links to Barcelona and refused to comment on his future. Barça, in any case, appear to be keen on other managerial options, including Klopp and De Zerbi.
