With Bayern Munich confirming that Thomas Tuchel will leave the club at the end of the season, the rumour mill is abuzz with speculations about the 50-year-old’s next move.

Barcelona, for one, have been touted as a possible destination for the German tactician, with the Catalans seeing him as one of the candidates to replace Xavi Hernandez in the summer.

In fact, now that his exit from Bayern Munich is confirmed, Barça see Tuchel as a very real option to succeed Xavi.

Thomas Tuchel wants Premier League return

However, now, Christian Falk of BILD is claiming that Tuchel would want a return to the Premier League in the summer.

The 50-year-old spent a successful time at Chelsea, where he won the UEFA Champions League, and is eager to return to England.

The report goes on to mention Manchester United as a club that Tuchel has been interested in working at for a long time. However, at the moment, the Red Devils are not looking for a new manager, with Erik ten Hag in charge of things at Old Trafford.

Liverpool could be an option for Tuchel with Jurgen Klopp set to leave, but they are leaning towards Xabi Alonso, who is also a target for Bayern Munich.

A return to Chelsea appears unlikely either despite Mauricio Pochettino being under pressure given how Tuchel was forced out by the Blues’ new owners.

As such, even though he wants a return to the Premier League, there does not seem to be a space for him at the top clubs in England at this point.

So, Barcelona remain a likely destination for Tuchel, who has previously admitted to be attracted to the prospect of coaching in Spain.
