A recent development regarding Lucas Bergvall has surfaced via Mundo Deportivo, with the Spanish publication affirming that his current club, Djugarden, is willing to sell the young midfielder for €15 million.

It was only yesterday that we reported Barcelona were readying an official offer for the 17-year-old. Despite the bid, though, their plan is to let him continue at Djurgardens for the rest of the season and welcome him in Catalonia by the end of the campaign.

Bergvall’s price has multiplied

It is to be noted that big football clubs in Europe are becoming quicker at finding talented players. The competition is tough, and teams want to discover young talent before others do and Bergvall is a good example of this trend.

Interestingly enough, Djurgarden got Bergvall and his older brother Theo in December 2022 from IF Brommapojkarna for just over €876,000. Now, Djurgarden are looking to sell Bergvall for around €15 million. So, in a little over a year, the midfielder’s value has gone up 15 times.

Back in December 2022, Bergvall was already seen as one of the most promising talents in Swedish football and as soon as the opportunity arrived, Djurgarden’s sporting director, Bosse Andersson, quickly signed him until 2025.

Now, Bergvall has about a year and a half left on his current contract, and Djurgarden know they can’t wait too long to sell him if they want to make a good deal which is why they are ready to sell him for €15 million.

Knowing the price, the interest in the 17-year-old has gathered pace and if reports are to be believed, apart from Barcelona, the likes of Inter, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Eintracht Frankfurt are all interested.

Frankfurt’s interest is so strong that they were said to be willing to offer €9 million for the midfielder before Djurgarden had come up with a price tag.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also understood to be planning to hold talks with the Swedish prodigy. But with the player keen on joining Barcelona, it remains to be seen if an agreement is reached.
