Lucas Bergvall’s visit to Barcelona this week has been the major story in Catalonia, as far as the January transfer window is concerned.
As we near the end of the winter market, Bergvall has emerged as a hot topic in Barcelona circles, with the club keen on securing a deal for the Swedish whizkid.
To that end, Bergvall has recently visited the city, even having dinner with Deco and his family, in what is being viewed as a major positive for the club.
Bergvall to visit Ciutat Esportiva
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on Bergvall’s visit to Barcelona, suggesting that the player will visit Ciutat Esportiva tomorrow.
It appears the youngster will take a look at the club’s facilities and the training camps. His family and agents ensure that they have put great faith in Barcelona’s sporting project.
As such, they want to take a look at every little detail before committing to a move to Catalonia.
Regarded as one of the most promising talents in Sweden, Bergvall has also been courted by other European clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt and Inter Milan.
What is Barcelona’s play here?
Barcelona clearly appear to have the upper hand in the Lucas Bergvall chase, despite the fact that the club are aiming to sign the player in the summer.
If everything goes according to the plan, Barcelona will receive the green light from the player and will thus be able to finalise a deal with Djurgardens.
The report suggests that Barça have a €10 million offer prepared and accepted by the Swedish outfit, meaning only the player’s green light should be enough for the club to finalise the deal.
Barça’s objective is to secure the Bergvall deal as soon as possible and have the player available for the pre-season campaign in the summer.
