Lucas Bergvall has been the talk of the town in the press in recent days as interest in the 17-year-old midfield talent has been growing with each passing day.

FC Barcelona have been one of his strongest admirers and have been working on his signing for a while now.

But the likes of Juventus and Bayern Munich have entered the race for the Djurgardens midfielder while Eintracht Frankfurt are also in the hunt, willing to offer €9 million for him.

Barcelona readying official bid

In light of the growing competition, Barcelona are now preparing an official bid to sign Bergvall from Djurgardens, reports reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

As per the update, the Blaugrana plan on signing the 17-year-old prodigy now but will let him continue at Djurgardens on loan for the remainder of the season before welcoming him into the club in June.

Just 17 years of age, Bergvall has been making great progress in Sweden and has scouts from several top clubs closely watching him.

As such, it is imperative that Barcelona move quickly if they intend to close the deal on the teenager, which is what they are preparing to do.

Bergvall’s priority is Barcelona

As iterated earlier, Eintracht Frankfurt are one of the clubs interested in signing Bergvall and Romano insists that the Bundesliga club are still pushing to sign the 17-year-old.

However, the Italian adds that the teenage sensation has Barcelona as his priority, which gives the Catalans a huge edge in the transfer race.

And, if everything goes smoothly, the reigning La Liga champions will be adding a talented, young midfielder with great potential to their ranks.

But, for now, the idea is to close the deal for Bergvall and let him continue his development at Djurgardens until June this year, after which he would be arriving at Barcelona.
