Barcelona president Joan Laporta and vice president Rafa Yuste have asserted that they have full confidence in Xavi, despite the team’s recent struggles.

Barcelona’s recent run of form has led to the neutrals questioning Xavi and his capabilities. Now, it is not to say that the results have gone completely south, but the level has dropped to the extent that the Blaugrana have won just one of their last 23 games with a two-goal margin.

A difficult situation to be in

Barcelona find themselves in a challenging position as they commence in the year 2024. The team’s lacklustre performance in the league recently forced them to secure a crucial victory in Las Palmas.

However, their fate hung in the balance until the last moments, with success relying on a decisive corner kick, something that a certain Ilkay Gundogan converted in the 93rd minute.

Following that, Barça picked up wins against UD Barbastro and CA Osasuna in Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup semifinal, respectively

But they were hammered 4-1 by Real Madrid in the finals of the Super Cup, leaving Xavi with a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders.

Board is behind Xavi

Barcelona have already lost the Spanish Super Cup to Real Madrid and there is a high possibility that the league will not be defended as well.

Despite that, though, the administration seems to be on board with the manager, as quoted by the main man, Laporta himself.

Responding to a question while making a public appearance, Laporta was quoted by El Chiringuito TV, “We have full confidence in Xavi”

On the other hand, even the vice present, Yuste, had the same thought, mentioning, “Confidence in Xavi? To death.”

For what it is worth, Barcelona’s patience with Xavi will only run until the end of the season and by that time, the process of evaluation will determine the future of the former midfielder.
