Just 48 before Barcelona’s next league match against Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona are quite literally in shambles at the moment.
There is huge unrest within the Barcelona board, which is unhappy over Xavi Hernandez’s brutally honest statements about the club’s finances.
Despite the recent win over Almeria, there is a possibility Xavi may even leave the club, with President Joan Laporta seriously considering that idea.
Laporta to hold an important meeting
In the midst of such uncertainty, Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on the situation, confirming that Laporta is indeed displeased with Xavi.
However, before making any rash decisions, the Barcelona President is set to hold an important meeting with Xavi.

The report suggests the meeting will be a straightforward one, with Laporta wanting to ask Xavi only one burning question.
What are the potential outcomes?
If Xavi admits that he does not have faith in the project, he will be allowed to submit his resignation and leave Camp Nou at the end of the season.
But if Xavi expresses any belief in the team, then he must maintain a discreet relationship with the media and not say anything about the club in public.
It appears the Barcelona board is particularly crossed about Xavi’s statements about the club’s economic despair.
The Catalans do not want the Spaniard to repeat that incident, especially if he does end up staying at Camp Nou.
It must be noted that Barcelona would have to incur many costs if they do decide to sack Xavi right now, including a potential termination clause of €20 million.
