As per MARCA, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly preparing to activate two financial levers before the current transfer window closes.

These moves are crucial for them to create enough financial room to register new players like Dani Olmo and pursue further signings.

Interestingly, there’s a growing belief within the club that they will secure the necessary approval before the window shuts.

In the event of the successful activation of these two levers, it is suggested that Barcelona could make significant signings such as Nico Williams, Rafael Leao, or Federico Chiesa.

However, these transfers depend on securing agreements and getting the green light from La Liga.

Details of the financial levers

The first lever involves securing an additional €20 million, which was missing from the second payment for the sale of a percentage of Barça Vision.

A few weeks ago, Barcelona reached an agreement with Aramark, a company that committed to providing €40 million for this payment. However, the remaining €20 million was still pending.

Bridgeburg Invest has now stepped in to cover this amount. The club is currently preparing the necessary documentation to submit to La Liga, hoping to get the go-ahead so they are no longer penalised by the missing €20 million.

This penalty has been a significant hurdle for the club in terms of signing and registering players. Barcelona remains confident they will secure approval before the transfer window closes.

The second lever is more complex and revolves around Barcelona’s new agreement with Nike

The club is racing against time to finalise this deal before the transfer market ends and to secure La Liga’s approval.

If successful, this agreement could provide Barcelona with an additional €40 million in ‘Fair Play’ funds, allowing the club to return to the 1:1 financial rule.

If these two sponsorships are secured, the club could undertake important signings such as

Rafael Leao or Federico Chiesa. But first the agreements must be closed and La Liga must give its approval.

As the transfer window’s closing date approaches, Barcelona are making every effort to ensure they have the financial room to strengthen their squad and comply with La Liga’s financial regulations. The next few days will be crucial for the club’s future plans.
