Earlier this week, La Liga president Javier Tebas backed Barcelona amidst their financial crisis and stated that he believed the Catalans would find their way back. The key, according to the league official, was two or three big sales that could help them out of the trench.

It does indeed not sit well for the president of the league to endorse the sales of big names from a top club in his jurisdiction. Yet, the fact of the matter is that Barcelona do indeed need to push for big sales if they wish to stabilise their ship next summer.

No interest to leave

Barcelona have seen some of their top players linked with summer exits, due to their market value and the interest they are generating. The aforementioned list consists of the likes of Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Frenkie de Jong, and Raphinha.

As brought to light by SPORT, however, none of the four stars are open to leaving Barcelona. They are all committed to the Catalans’ cause and see no reason to be made the scapegoat for the club’s mismanagement.

Earlier today, Andreas Christensen spoke about his future beyond this season, stating that he sees himself nowhere but at Barcelona. After all, he is adapting well to his new role and has not done much wrong since signing for Xavi’s side.

His sale would indeed bring in significant profit as he arrived as a free agent two years ago. Yet, he has been one of the better-performing players in Barcelona’s overcrowded defence.

A second defender linked with a sale is the club’s star player Ronald Araujo who has attracted significant attention from Bayern Munich.

Word has it that the club rejected two offers worth €90 million for the Uruguayan in January, and Araujo has also made it vertically clear on his end that he is happy at the club.

Frenkie de Jong’s case is not much different. The Dutch midfielder was extensively linked with a departure not too long ago, but he came out to fire media outlets for spreading misinformation over his future and wages, shutting talks of a departure.

In fact, De Jong’s entourage has met with Deco recently to even discuss a renewal and understand the long-term plan.

The fourth, and final player whose departure is talked of is Raphinha. The Brazilian has indeed faced tough competition from Lamine Yamal in recent weeks, but he does not consider an exit just two years after arriving at the club of his dreams.

The interest from the Premier League could, thus, come to nothing.
