Barcelona are planning to exercise their option to buy Pau Victor from Girona for €3 million, following his outstanding performance with the reserve team this season.
This decision comes from a report from AS, highlighting the youngster’s success as an on-loan player.
The 22-year-old player is making a strong case for Barcelona to invest in him this summer by paying his €3 million permanent purchase clause.
He has a contract with Girona until 2025, but this season he has excelled under the guidance of Rafa Marquez, playing for Barcelona’s B team.
Pau Victor is worth making an effort
Victor currently leads the scoring charts in Primera RFEF with 17 goals and is garnering attention from several clubs in both Segunda and Primera divisions.
As for Barcelona, they see his talent and potential as valuable assets and are inclined to invest in him.
Now, it is to be noted that Girona had hoped to keep the striker the past summer, but due to the large number of players, they decided to loan him out because the Girona B team competes in the Third RFEF.
Barcelona B welcomed him, recognizing his abilities. While he receives positive reviews at Barcelona, he is slowly being seen as a lost opportunity at Girona.
A first-team call without minutes
This season, the young forward has been called up to the first team for league matches against Granada (both first and second round) and Alaves.
However, despite being part of the squad, he did not get any playing time in those games.
Meanwhile, outside of his football career, Victor is pursuing a postgraduate degree in Sports Management at the Johann Cruyff Institute.
His main focus remains on his daily activities with the reserve team, which is currently challenging Deportivo de la Coruna, the top team in Group 1 of the Primera RFEF.
