It is no secret that Barcelona’s 125th anniversary celebrations are just around the corner. With the foundations of the institution laid down on 29th November 1899, little over a month remains before the special occasion.

The Catalan club’s administration is thus planning a grand celebration for the event and aims to make it a festival that will echo across the globe.

Needless to say, one of the primary objectives will be to celebrate the club’s growth over the decades.

Date being finalised

As revealed in a recent update via SPORT, the celebration will be held at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona as the Spotify Camp Nou is still under renovation.

The date, meanwhile, is still not finalised and the club administration has two options in mind – November 27th or 29th.

After all, the team plays against Brest on November 26th so any celebration can only be planned after that fixture at Montjuic.

Barcelona are planning to call eminent names, club legends and icons on the night who have represented the club across different decades and even hope to have Lionel Messi in attendance.

The plan, thus, is to schedule the event to suit Inter Miami’s calendar where not only Messi but even Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez ply their trade.

The MLS-based club have a hiatus at that time between the semifinal and final of the league final in the United States.

Should they not be able to attend, they will be asked to record a video message for the occasion so as to ensure their contribution towards the historic event.
