After having chased the signing of Lucas Bergvall for a few months now, Barcelona appear all set to close his signing imminently.
One of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe, Bergvall has been garnering interest from the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Eintracht Frankfurt, among others.
But, for a while now, it has been clear that the 17-year-old midfield sensation wants to join Barça despite his club, Djurgardens IF, pushing him to accept a superior offer from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Barcelona set to close deal for Bergvall
Now, though, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Bergvall is just one step away from signing for Barcelona from Djurgardens.
As per the report, Barça have offered a fixed sum of €7 million for Bergvall, along with add-ons worth €3 million, taking the total value of the deal worth €10 million.
That is an offer that Djurgardens are now willing to accept, with it even being claimed that the operation could be closed by this week.
Bergvall’s desire to join the Blaugrana is likely to have played a great role in the operation speeding up with their offer now set to be accepted.
Bergvall would arrive in the summer
As has been reported already, while Barcelona will be closing the deal for Bergvall now, the 17-year-old midfielder will not be arriving at the club right away.
Instead, the idea is for him to remain at Djurgardens for the remainder of the season before arriving in Catalonia in the summer.
A young talent with immense potential, Bergvall has the promise to be a fine addition to Barcelona with an eye on the future.
