Barcelona are among the clubs interested in 14-year-old talented Brazilian midfield prodigy Guilherme Ruck, better known as Gui Ruck, who is at the academy of Real Valladolid.
Following up on the story, journalist Gabriel Sans has reported via Mundo Deportivo that Barça are all set to miss out on Ruck as he is currently in favour of moving back to Brazil but only if there are no top offers.
As of today, he has decided to make a decision in March and if nothing pans out as expected, he will move back as he has been in Europe since he was 7 years old.
Ruck is being studied, but there is no rush
The 14-year-old talent is said to be attracting attention from top European clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid. Despite that, though, the player and his family are evaluating the offers they have received and they will only decide in March.
Barça enlisted the help of Vitor Roque to convince Ruck, by having him give the 14-year-old a club jersey.
However, Real Madrid are also closely monitoring his movements and are reportedly considering incorporating him into their youth system in June 2024 when he becomes eligible to leave Valladolid with affordable financial compensation.
Additionally, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are also keeping a watchful eye on the talented midfielder.
It is to be noted that Ruck’s European journey began at the age of 7 in Portugal, where he played for Vitoria Guimaraes and Sporting Braga before joining Porto.
Bureaucratic challenges prevented his signing with Atletico Madrid, leading him to Rayo Majadahonda before eventually moving to Valladolid in 2021, facilitated by former Real Madrid forward, Ronaldo, who happens to be the president of the club.
However, now, it appears that Ruck is leaning towards returning to Brazil to continue his professional journey unless presented with a particularly tempting proposal.
The primary reasons for this inclination are his lengthy separation from family while in Europe and his desire to be in his home country for eligibility reasons.
