The past few weeks have been rough for Barcelona, considering their chances of lifting any silverware at the end of the season are next to none.

But this campaign has especially taken a toll on Vitor Roque, who has been forced to spectate his side’s shortcomings from afar, with minimal influence to impact games.

Having arrived for €40 million from Athletico Paranaense in the January transfer window, Roque’s spell in Barcelona has not exactly gone according to plan.

His integration into the team has faced setbacks, with the coaching staff giving him minimal play time, leaving both him and the club disappointed.

Roque wants more minutes

According to Mundo Deportivo Vitor Roque confided to his closest friends in the dressing room that he anticipated having more playing time with the team this year.

Roque knew he would need some time to adjust and would be learning under the tutelage of Robert Lewandowski.

However, it goes without saying that the coaching staff’s refusal to bank on him when the team needed a goal has infuriated the 19-year-old Brazilian, as is typical of an ambitious player.

It is also important to keep in mind that his initial adjustment to the city did not get off to a great start, as he lived in two hotels before eventually locating a home in Barcelona.

Loan move in the offing

Owing to his current circumstances, an exit on loan is the most likely scenario for Roque as things stand.

Napoli, Lyon, Nice, Sevilla, Man United, and Real Betis are some of the elite teams interested in signing Vitor Roque on loan.

Given Roque has only had a glimpse of European football, an opportunity to further refine his skills at a top club before joining Barcelona appears to be the most feasible solution.
