As Barcelona look beyond Nico Williams in their bid to sign attacking reinforcements, the club have been linked with a series of attacking talents in recent weeks.

One of the surprising names linked with a move to Catalonia is Federico Chiesa, with Barça recently offered the chance to sign the Italian international.

Barcelona strongly considering Chiesa option

At the time Chiesa was offered to Barcelona, the club were still hopeful of securing the services of top target Nico Williams.

However, a lot has changed since and as per a fresh update from Diario SPORT, it appears the Catalans are strongly considering the option of signing the Italian this summer.

Barça have yet to make any official proposal for the Juventus star. But the idea of singing the Italian is gaining traction, with Barcelona identifying his situation as an ideal market opportunity.

Chiesa was regarded as one of Juventus’ best players not too long ago. But he is no longer a part of the club’s plans in the new season, with Juve determined to get him off the wage bill.

Chiesa could be available for a fee of just €14 million, which is certainly a bargain for a player of his calibre. However, the Italian’s wages could be a problem as he earns €6 million net salary at Juventus.

Chiesa is in top condition

Federico Chiesa struggled with a serious injury two years ago, which gravely impacted his form and fitness at both club and international levels.

However, the report adds that Chiesa is back in his top condition and there are no lingering injury issues.

This could be a relief for Barcelona, who could look to take full advantage of the market opportunity and secure the services of the young forward this summer.

Chiesa has had multiple offers, especially from the Premier League. But the forward is particularly keen on joining Barça, so it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming days.
