The future of Xavi Hernandez is up in the air once again, especially in recent weeks.
Despite a win over Almeria, the Barcelona management is displeased with the head coach and there is a possibility that he may not even continue at Camp Nou next season.
Amid growing pressure, Xavi remains intent on his squad building for the season ahead and is already making some changes to the team.
Xavi sends a message to Lewandowski
One of the most notable changes Xavi has made recently has come in the form of his treatment of Robert Lewandowski.
Xavi has subbed Lewandowski four times out of the last five matches, even though the Polish international is the team’s top scorer this season.
As reported by Diario SPORT, Xavi wants to make changes to his attacking unit, taking into account Lewandowski’s high salary, his age and his relatively low level of performance.

Lewandowski’s receding form has rung alarm bells at Barcelona, who could possibly consider selling the Polish international in the coming summer.
How does Lewandowski view the situation?
Xavi’s recent treatment of Lewandowski did not please the player. The veteran striker wants to feature more prominently.
In fact, Lewandowski’s desire is to continue at Barcelona and lead the Catalan frontline at least the next 12 months.
But it appears Xavi, too, is adamant about making changes to the frontline. As per the report, clearer decisions will be made in the coming hours and there is a possibility Lewandowski’s long-term future at Barça could be affected.
