FC Barcelona institutional vice president Elena Fort has assured that the team will return to Spotify Camp Nou in November, saying that the construction work is being carried out on time and everybody is happy with the progress.

“We are on time, very happy We will return to the Spotify Camp Nou in November,” said Fort said in an interview with the program ‘Tu Diràs’ on RAC 1 (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

Speaking about the club’s return to the iconic Camp Nou was one of the topics that Fort discussed. As such, she also talked about the club’s financial state, saying that although the team is improving, there is still a long way to go.

“The club’s situation? It is certainly not the best possible. From the sporting side I think there was an agreed project, and for whatever reason it did not go as expected, but it is also true that the condition of the club is clearly improving from 2021.

“In three years, excellent work has been done with real improvements. Economically we are improving and working every day to improve,” she said.

Barcelona have been walking on thin ice for quite a while. In order to comply with the Financial Fair Play ruling, the team from Catalonia has been forced to take several drastic measures and while several senior players have put in effort from their end as well, the ship is not entirely steady yet.

Despite all this, the work done by the management amidst all the trouble needs a special mention and Fort, while explaining the same, said that any other team would have gone bankrupt if they were in the same condition.

“In our situation, any entity other than FC Barcelona would have gone bankrupt. The huge work of these years, in which the team has also been improved.

“I think we should look at it with a perspective that goes beyond personal interests. We need everyone to realize that Barcelona is not as bad as some imagine,” she explained.
