One of the standouts of the pre-season tour of the USA for FC Barcelona was new signing Pau Victor.

Signed permanently from Girona in the summer after his impressive loan stint with Barça Atletic last season, the 22-year-old forward impressed with three goals and an assist from the three pre-season friendlies Barça played.

However, since the season started, the Spanish attacker has barely seen any on-field action. Indeed, Victor has played only six minutes across four games for Barcelona in the new campaign – the lowest by an outfield player in the squad barring Hector Fort.

Flick has faith in Pau Victor

However, according to SPORT, Pau Victor will see an increase in his minutes and gain more prominence in the Barcelona team in the weeks and months to come.

Despite the current situation, Pau is delighted that one of his childhood dreams has come true with him joining Barcelona and entering the first-team dynamics.

Flick has so far given him total confidence thus far and the youngster’s time to shine on the field will come soon.

The schedule ahead for the next three months is daunting, with a dense run of double-header weeks and very tough opponents.

Robert Lewandowski, at 36, will need rest at some point, considering his involvement for Barcelona and the Poland national team.

And when the time comes, Victor will be ready, with Flick also having total faith in the young forward’s abilities.

Although he will now be joined by the returning Ansu Fati as competition, Victor has shown that he can be of great use to Flick both on the wing and in the centre of attack. And he is waiting for his opportunity to arrive.
