Under the leadership of its new coach, Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich is trying to poach Bruno Fernandes, captain of Manchester United.
Barely had he joined Manchester United in January 2020 when Bruno Fernandes established himself on the pitch and in the hearts of supporters. Both conductor and scorer, the Portuguese international has since been an indisputable member of the Red Devils. But the passing seasons and the uncertainty that regularly reigns in the Mancunian corridors sometimes make him ask questions. Bayern Munich wants to take advantage of it.
According to O Jogo, the German club has made Bruno Fernandes one of its targets this summer. While Vincent Kompany has just been appointed coach following the departure of Thomas Tuchel, Bayern are looking to strengthen themselves and have contacted the player’s representatives. According to the Portuguese media, the German club is not the only one on the scene since FC Barcelona would also have an eye on the player. Plagued by incessant cash flow problems, the Catalan club should not, however, be in the race for long for a player that United will sell very dearly if they decide to sell him.
Ambitious Fernandes
Which is very unlikely to be the case. The main person concerned has also clearly stated his wish not to leave Manchester United, in a text published last month by The Player’s Tribune. Bruno Fernandes, however, indicated that United must ensure that they can achieve their objectives. If he won the FA Cup by beating Manchester City in the final a few days ago, the Portuguese is certainly thinking of moving to the next level, namely winning a Premier League, or even more in European competition.
Former of Skyblues, Vincent Kompany therefore tries to steal a player from the other Mancunian club. The Belgian tactician will have a lot to do to get Bayern Munich back on track after a fairly complicated season in terms of results.
