Xavi Simons appears to be a man in demand heading into the summer transfer window, with the PSG loanee emerging as a target for a number of top clubs, including Barcelona.

Indeed, the Blaugrana’s interest in the 21-year-old former La Masia ace has been well-established by now, while his current loan club, RB Leipzig, are also keen on retaining him beyond the season.

However, it now appears that another big team has entered the race to sign Simons in the summer.

Bayern Munich eye Simons

Indeed, as per Sky Germany (h/t AS), Bayern Munich have joined Barcelona and others in the race to sign Xavi Simons from PSG before next season.

The Netherlands international has enjoyed an impressive campaign with RB Leipzig in Germany, racking up 25 goal involvements across all competitions.

However, Simons is unlikely to have a place in the PSG squad next season despite the impending exit of Kylian Mbappe.

The Parisian giants, for their part, value their 21-year-old jewel at around €60-70 million to offload him permanently, which makes the situation complicated.

As such, Bayern Munich, much like Barcelona, will also seek a loan deal for the Dutchman come summer.

Simons wants Barcelona

As has already been reported previously, Xavi Simons is keen on a move back to Barcelona in the summer.

However, the Catalans’ financial situation makes things tricky, especially if PSG insist on a permanent transfer over a loan departure.

But with Bayern Munich also now entering the race, Barcelona will need to be swift in their movements if they are to close the deal and sign Simons to reinforce the squad for next season.
