Bayern Munich offers Frenchman Sacha Boey

Bayern Munich was destined to recruit a right back this winter. After the departure of Benjamin Pavard this summer, the Munich ogre had identified the deficiencies in the position, deemed too fragile by Thomas Tuchel. On several occasions, the German coach had repeated his desire to see a solid defensive full-back arrive, starting in January. If the eyes of its management were first focused on Nordi Mukiele, already in Germany (Leipzig between 2018 and 2022) and condemned to a secondary role at PSG, it was ultimately on another Frenchman that Bayern decided to turn: Sacha Boey.

Courted for several days as we announced to you, the player trained at Stade Rennais has officially joined Bayern Munich, as indicated by the German club this Sunday on its social networks: “FC Bayern has recruited Sacha Boey (23 years old). The French full-back arrives from Turkish champion Galatasaray and has signed a contract in Munich until June 30, 2028., specifies the press release. His transfer should also bring in 28 million euros for Galatasaray, which had spent just over a million in 2021.

A direct entry point for the France team?

Author of two and a half quality seasons at Galatasaray, where he established himself as a full-fledged starter (83 matches, 4 goals, 4 assists) and was able to discover the games of the Champions League, Sacha Boey is about to set foot in a completely different universe. If a movement – without effect to date – had already been initiated on social networks to demand his arrival at the Blues, this transfer to Bayern Munich could act as a showcase, or even a direct gateway. Moreover, the 23-year-old full-back will become the fourth French player in the Bavarian squad, already well represented by Kingsley Coman, Mathyl Tel and Dayot Upamecano.

Noussair Mazraoui being at the CAN, Bouna Sarr seriously injured in the knee, Josip Stanisic loaned to Leverkusen… With such a combination of events, Sacha Boey should also be offered valuable opportunities in this second part of the season. Until now, Thomas Tuchel had often had to tinker by aligning Konrad Laimer in the right lane, a position that was anything but natural for the Austrian. With a real trained right-back under his belt, the German technician will be offered a much wider field of action, while Boey will benefit from a more significant field of expression. At a time when the position remains as uncertain and damaged as ever in the Blues, Boey would be well inspired to prove himself, especially six months before a Euro in his new host country.
