With the transfer window on the horizon, FC Barcelona have two key positions as priorities to be strengthened before the next season starts.

For starters, the Blaugrana want to sign a top defensive midfielder – a position that has been a concern ever since Sergio Busquets last year.

On top of that, a new left-winger is also very much on the agenda at Barça, provided finances permit.

Various players have already been linked with a move to the Catalan giants, who will be under the tutelage of new manager Hansi Flick now.

Owing to his past with Bayern Munich, two players from the Bavarian giants have also emerged as targets in the form of Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman for the midfield and wing positions, respectively.

The arrival of Vincent Kompany as Bayern Munich’s new coach will bring a number of important changes to the Bavarian club.

And, Kimmich and Coman would join Matthijs de Ligt, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Noussair Mazraoui as transferable players at Bayern Munich and could move on if good offers arrive for them.

Kimmich’s current contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2025 but renewal negotiations have been put on hold until after the UEFA Euro 2024, leaving the door open for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Coman has two more years on his contract at Bayern Munich until 2027 but could still be offloaded in light of his fitness problems.

While Barcelona do have the Frenchman on their radar, he is not seen as a priority target at the moment, with the club preferring other options like Luis Diaz and Nico Williams.
