Bayern Munich: the Zinedine Zidane track is confirmed!

Thomas Tuchel’s days at Bayern Munich are clearly numbered. A little more weakened after his team’s defeat against Bochum last weekend (2-3), the German coach has almost no chance of staying despite a contract running until 2025. Bayern are second in the Bundesliga ranking, eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen, and is therefore preparing to descend from a throne it has occupied since 2013!

Some have fun making fun of the black cat reputation of Harry Kane (who came to Germany because he was not winning anything with Tottenham), but it is Tuchel who will be costly. Moreover, rumors concerning his potential successor have already started to swirl. Xabi Alonso, Bayer coach, is obviously mentioned, but yesterday, The Corriere dello Sport assured that the Munich leaders were also thinking of Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane pleases Bayern

A rumor that surprised more than one, especially since it came from an Italian newspaper not particularly renowned for knowing everything behind the scenes at Bayern. But the transalpine media was right. This morning, several German media are giving weight to the ZZ rumor. Bild indicates that the French coach has not yet been contacted, but that the position should interest him. For his part, Sky Germany confirms that Bayern have ticked Zidane’s name!

Xabi Alonso remains the priority, but one detail works in favor of the former Merengue. If Tuchel is landed before the end of the season, Zidane is one of the rare coaches immediately available (just like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer), unlike Xabi Alonso. It remains to be seen whether an experience in Germany will convince Zidane who has often rejected offers from countries whose language he does not speak.
