I genuinely think Billy Bob Thornton is one of the most underrated actors out there. He’s made some real flops, no doubt, but when he gets his hands on an okay-to-good script, he’s amazing. Billy Bob is currently promoting his new Paramount+ series Landman. It was co-created by Christian Wallace and Taylor Sheridan, and it’s based on Wallace’s Boomtown podcast, about the Texas oil industry. Billy Bob plays a “fixer” for Texas’s big oil companies. The reviews are good (from what I’ve seen) and Billy Bob thinks that this is a show with some longevity. Billy has been out hustling for the show in recent days (alongside his very oddly dyed goatee), and he stopped by Drew Barrymore’s show, where he admitted something amazing.

The secret to Billy Bob Thornton’s cool style is a pair of nice-fitting women’s jeans.

In a new interview on The Drew Barrymore Show which aired on Nov. 19, the Oscar winner, 69, said that he likes to wear a slimmer fit when it comes to his pants — and for him, that means shopping in the women’s department.

“The reason I don’t like to wear men’s jeans is because they’re all too baggy. I’ve got bird legs and it just feels like I’m in a tent. I like a nice fit and they fit great with boots,” said the Landman star.

The dad of four also happened to be wearing a pair of women’s black Levis’ jeans, disclosing that he wears a size 6.

“Size 6? I couldn’t get my right butt cheek in those,” joked Drew Barrymore.

I find this charming. Billy has always liked clothes – Angelina Jolie said, when they were married, that his closet was bigger than hers – and yes, I can imagine that he does like the fit of women’s jeans. Women’s jeans are overwhelmingly made with Billy’s narrow proportions in mind. That being said, I like what’s happening in the denim culture these days. It used to be that slim-fit jeans and jeggings were basically the only thing on offer. Nowadays, I don’t even think there’s one major denim fit/style which is dominant culturally. I’m seeing some baggy, ‘90s-looking light washes out here and I love it.
