ECW is the promotion that changed the way people viewed professional wrestling. The founding father of ECW was none other than WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman. The promotion helped elevate several wrestling careers. The long list of ECW Originals includes Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, Sandman, and many more.

Another ECW Original is The Blue Meanie. The wrestling veteran recently took to Twitter to share that he was recently hired by WWE for a WrestleMania weekend event.

The ECW veteran was hired as a Tour guide for the WWE Universe. He gave a complete ‘History Tour’ of the ECW Arena at the WWE World Fan Experience. The ECW veteran also hosted a Q&A Panel with WWE Hall of Famers Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley, and Spike Dudley, and Al Snow.

“Yesterday I was honored to have the WWE hire me to give a private history tour of the ECW Arena and host a Q&A panel with Bubba, DVon, Spike, and Al Snow for their VIP fans. I’ve attended the ECW Arena (now the 2300 arena) as a fan, a wrestler, a promoter, an MC, and now a tour guide. Thank you to the WWE for this awesome opportunity to create new memories and provide an experience to their fans through my eyes,” Blue Meanie said.

Blue Meanie was caught by surprise that Paul Heyman accepted to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

As mentioned earlier, Paul Heyman is now a WWE Hall of Famer. It was announced that Heyman would be the first person to be inducted into the Class of 2024. That came as a bit of a surprise to one person and that’s The Blue Meanie. While speaking on an episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Meanie mentioned that he didn’t think that Heyman would agree to the induction.

“Because, knowing Paul, Paul’s probably thinking, ‘Hey, I’m just getting started. My career’s not over; I’m still active. To Paul, his best work is still yet to come. And to go in this early, to him, I think he would have maybe fought it. But Paul’s been a huge part of my career, a huge part of my life. I don’t know where I would be in my life without pro wrestling. And I certainly don’t know where I would have been if Raven and Stevie [Richards] hadn’t presented me to Paul, [and] if Paul hadn’t gone, ‘Yeah, let’s give this kid a try.’ And not only did he give me a try, he allowed me to make mistakes and learn from mistakes,” The Blue Meanie said.
