Relegated to National 2, Bordeaux loses one of its best talents. As we revealed earlier today, young defender Mathys Angély is leaving Gironde and heading to Germany, to sign with Wolfsburg until 2029. The information has just been made official by the German club.
“VfL Wolfsburg have signed another player. Defender Mathys Angely, 17, is moving from Girondins de Bordeaux to the Vert et Blanc. Angely spent most of his youth career with local side ESA Brive before joining Bordeaux in 2022. Last season, he made five first-team appearances for the south-west French side, most recently in the second division. In May this year, he also represented France at the U17 European Championships in Cyprus. Angely has signed a long-term contract with VfL“, says the German club.
