This season has been very difficult for Niklas Süle. Having become a substitute behind Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck, the 28-year-old German defender will not participate in Euro 2024. A big disappointment for him who will have to quickly get his head back on track. The player who has played 31 matches this season has been regularly targeted for his weight problems and carrying extra pounds. A real problem for Borussia Dortmund who have made it one of their battles for this summer.

Like the ad Sports Bild, the former Hoffenheim man now weighs more than 110 kilos while his healthy weight is around 100 kilos. Too much weight gain which pushed former sports director Sebastian Kehl and his successor Lars Ricken to discuss with him. The latter asked him to present himself in top form for the resumption which will be held on July 10 for the Ruhr club. A fan of pizzas, burgers and beers, Niklas Süle will quickly have to put these excesses aside.
