Australian Olympian Rachael “Raygun” Gun revealed she has not yet watched her full breakdance routine from the 2024 Paris Olympics in her first sit-down interview since her routine went viral.

“I have seen little bits and pieces, but yeah, I will watch it eventually,” the 36-year-old Olympian told Australia’s Network 10’s “The Project” on Wednesday.

“That’s not unusual for me, though, I’m not great as watching back my battles,” she added.

Raygun also said she’s not yet in the right mental space to watch the sketch that aired on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that poked fun at her dance moves.

“I don’t know whether to hug him or yell at him,” she said, referring to the television host. “I haven’t actually watched it the sketch because I don’t think I am in a place to watch it.”

“I am stll in the process of being able to describe how I feel about all this stuff because it kind of feels like a really weird dream that I’ve been having that I’m going to wake up from at any moment,” Raygun further explained. “Like, what is life right now?”

Raygun had the world talking after she took the floor to participate in three Olympic breakdance battles in August. She lost every round and did not score a single point for Australia.

Her backward roll, sprinkler move and kangaroo hop, the latter of which was dubbed “kangaroo paw,” had viewers in disbelief that she was a serious competitor.

She addressed the backlash she received over her meme-worthy moves in mid-August via an Instagram video.

“While I went out there and I had fun, I did take it very seriously,” Raygun said in an Instagram video she shared in mid-August to respond to the criticism. Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports She added, “I worked my butt off, preparing for the Olympics and I gave my all truly.” REUTERS

“I didn’t realize that that would also open the door to so much hate which has frankly been pretty devastating,” she said. “While I went out there and I had fun, I did take it very seriously.”

“I’m honored to have been a part of the Australian Olympic Team and to be part of breaking’s Olympic debut.”

Raygun received such intense hate over her performance that Australia’s breaking organization, AUSBreak, got involved and confirmed she was chosen through a “fair and transparent” two-day audition process and that they “stand in solidarity” with her.

During her interview with “The Project,” the dancer defended herself by saying she has “a different approach” to breaking but admitted she knew she would be defeated at the Olympics.

“I had to go with what I was good at. I had to go with my strengths,” she said of her strategy. “It just wasn’t enough to tip the scale. The odds were against me, that’s for sure.”

Raygun said she feels “very sorry for the backlash that the community has experienced” following her performances and confirmed that she would be taking a break from competitions for the foreseeable future.

“I would much rather focus on the positives out of this, and the positive responses and the joy that I brought people,” she noted.

“It’s going out there and just having fun and going as hard as you can in the face of, you know, losing.”
