Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan & Baby Reindeer's Jessica Gunning Join Star-Studded Cast of 'The Magic Faraway Tree'

Nicola Coughlan and Jessica Gunning are joining a fun new project!

The 37-year-old Bridgerton star and the 38-year-old Baby Reindeer actress are both joining the cast of the upcoming film adaptation of Enid Blyton‘s The Magic Faraway Tree, THR reports.

The two will join the previously announced cast members, Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy.

Here’s a plot summary, via THR: “Based on The Faraway Tree series of novels for children, The Magic Faraway Tree follows Polly (Foy) and Tim Thompson (Garfield) and their children, Beth, Joe and Fran, who find themselves forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. There, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric occupants.”

The inhabitants of the tree will be played by Nicola, who has been cast as woodland fairy Silky, and Nonso Anozie as group leader Moonface.

Jessica will star as Dame Washalot and Dustin Demri-Burns will star as Saucepan Man. Mark Heap will star as Mr. Oom Boom Boom and Oliver Chris will play Mr. Watzisname.

Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, and Simon Russell Beale will play “a trio of mystical wise men from the Land of Know-Alls.”

The movie will be directed by Ben Gregor, and production begins later this month across the United Kingdom.
