The Broadway engagement of John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt: A Parable, starring Amy Ryan and Liev Schreiber, has been extended by a week, with a closing date now set for Sunday, April 21.
The Roundabout Theatre Company production, currently in previews, officially opens tomorrow, March 7, at the Todd Haimes Theatre. Roundabout says the extension is due to ticket demand.
The revival initially was scheduled to open February 29, but the date was delayed a week when Tyne Daly, who had been set to co-star with Schreiber, dropped out last month due to illness. Ryan joined the cast as Daly’s replacement, and has been performing the lead role of Sister Aloysius since February 13.
Also in the cast is Quincy Tyler Bernstine and Zoe Kazan.
Still no official word on the nature of Daly’s illness, which required hospitalization last month, though Roundabout execs have said she is expected to make a full recovery.
