Carnegie Mellon University Faculty to Provide AI Courses at OU

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) will be offering courses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Osmania University. This announcement was made during the first meeting of the International Academic Advisory Committee organized by Osmania Foundation (OF) on Monday.

During the meeting, it was decided that a three-credit course in Artificial Intelligence will be introduced at the University College of Engineering. Professor Bhiksha Raj from the School of Computer Science at CMU in Pittsburgh, USA will mentor the students.

The academia from USA has committed to assisting Osmania University in various areas, such as upgrading teaching methods to global standards, collaborating on research and fundraising, facilitating visiting faculty to conduct courses, organizing workshops for faculty and students during their visits to Hyderabad, and serving as mentors through a web platform created by Osmania Foundation.

Professor D Ravinder, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, mentioned that similar collaborations will be pursued with alumni from academia in the UK and other parts of the world. He encouraged deans and principals to make full use of alumni services to enhance the teaching and learning process in line with global standards.
