Cathy Kelley praises Stephanie McMahon.
In January 2023, Stephanie McMahon announced that she was resigning from her positions as Co-CEO and Chairwoman of WWE. Since then, McMahon has made two appearances on WWE television, the first being at WrestleMania 40. Following her subsequent return at the 2024 SummerSlam premium live event, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque clarified that despite her appearance, McMahon does not have an official role with WWE again right now.
During a recent interview with B4TheBell, backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley heaped praise for McMahon, specifically for the way she’s advocated for women in WWE.
“[Stephanie McMahon] really is an advocate for so many women. She’s not the advocate, but she is an advocate for so many women. She is so versatile in everything that she has accomplished and has been able to do throughout her career, so I think it’s a little bit of a detriment that we don’t have her there full-time right now, but, God, I love her so much.”
Kelley Credits Stephanie McMahon For WWE Return
Outside of McMahon’s own career, Kelley added that McMahon played a huge role in her respective return to WWE in October 2022.
“I’ve talked about this before. [Stephanie] is the reason I came back [to WWE]. We had multiple conversations before I came back. She is the one that really encouraged me to come back.
“[The final thing that really brought be back] was her being at the helm,” Kelley continued. “It was her and Triple H. They really took care of me the first time that I was there. We talked about NXT and so many of the things that [Triple H] implemented during that time I think are now bleeding over into Raw and SmackDown. We’re really, as fans, getting to reap the benefits of that.”
