Former WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green recently returned to NXT and wrestled Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship. Unfortunately, Green was unsuccessful in her attempt to win her first singles title in WWE.
Prior to her match on NXT, she showed up on Busted Open Radio. During the interview, Chelsea Green claimed that NXT was more like middle school according to her. While she believes she cannot do the majority of things that the women at NXT do, Green still feels that the women need to learn a lot of lessons about WWE.
“‘NXT’ is middle school, it’s not even high school, it is middle school. Now, I’m not saying skill-wise — skill-wise they are some of the best talent in the world, I cannot do 90 percent of the things those women can do. But it’s middle school, they have life lessons to learn about WWE, about the main roster, about traveling 24/7 and coming home from France and going straight into a championship match, and that is what I’m going to teach them when I’m their champion. I’m going to teach them that there is so much more to this business than doing a front flip and a backflip,” Chelsea Green said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Chelsea Green does not care about looking stupid on WWE television
During the same interview, the Hot Mess shared a little more about her character in WWE. She doesn’t mind acting stupid on live television.
“It’s funny. Because I wish I had an answer like, I have a notepad full of ideas or things like… I wish I had an answer in that sense. But I think I have put so much time into WWE and wanting this career. And wanting this specific job. That now I don’t think about it. I actually have let all inhibitions go, and I do whatever is asked of me, and whatever comes out when I’m in the ring.
“And I think, that’s the beauty of my character, is I don’t care about looking stupid and a lot of people do. And you can see that. It translates on TV that you don’t want to look like a loser or you don’t want to make a fool of yourself. And isn’t that what we are doing? We’re fighting in our underwear. Why can’t we look ridiculous?” Chelsea Green said.
