Matt Cardona was released from WWE over four years ago, and he’s made the most of his time after working for the biggest pro wrestling company on the planet. Now, his wife would love to see him make that return.
The pro wrestling business has a lot of couples, especially in WWE. That being said, many people in WWE have relationships with people who are outside the company. Chelsea Green and Matt Cardona are happily married, but it would make Green even happier to see her husband on the road with WWE once again.
In an interview with Casual Conversations, Chelsea Green discussed her desire for her husband, Matt Cardona, to join WWE. She mentioned that she wanted this even more than success in her own career.
“I want to see Matt in WWE, honestly more than anything else, anything else that I even could want out of my career. I feel guilt because first of all, he supports me like no other. He’s so happy for me. He watches everything I do. He’s at shows when I’m winning championships. But at the end of the day, I go home and I know that this was his dream. I joke with you about the fact that I googled how to be a WWE Diva, but he didn’t. He literally came out of the womb wanting to be a WWE Superstar. So I just want him so badly to come back and have that final closure, that ending that he so deserves as, I mean, he was with WWE for a very, very, very long time. I think the fans want it too. Like, I don’t want to speak for anyone, but I just, I get a lot of people asking, you know, when’s he coming back? When’s he coming back? Gosh, I would love, love, love to see him back.“
Even though he was known as Zack Ryder in WWE, Matt Cardona has made it clear that character is dead. It would be interesting to see how WWE packages him if they do bring him back.
Matt Cardona recently reflected on the four years since his WWE release. He became a big name on the indies, and he tacked the deathmatch wrestling scene as well. Now, we will have to see what he decides to do next in his career.
Although Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green were both released, the company did bring Chelsea Green back. She is seeing the fruits of all that hard work, as she is enjoying her time as Women’s United States Champion. Only time will tell if Matt Cardona joins her in WWE once again.
