Chelsea are planning to reject all offers for Andrey Santos this summer and will include the midfielder in Enzo Maresca’s squad next season, according to reports.

The 20-year-old joined Chelsea in a deal worth around £18 million last year and was allowed to join Nottingham Forest on loan last August.

However, Santos failed to secure a regular role at Forest, making just two first-team appearances before his loan deal was cut short.

Santos was on the move again in the January transfer window as he joined Strasbourg and the Brazilian quickly impressed for Patrick Vieira’s side and was crowned Ligue 1’s Young Player of the Month for March.

Santos returns to Stamford Bridge with a new manager in Maresca, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the start of this month, but still faces strong competition for a place in Chelsea’s midfield.

It had been suggested that Chelsea may allow Santos to leave on loan in order to gain more first-team experience in Europe.

However, The Athletic reports that Chelsea’s hierarchy have no interest in seeing Santos leave this summer.

The report claims that Chelsea have already received enquiries about Santos but the midfielder is viewed as a ‘great fit’ for the style of play Maresca plans to implement.

Chelsea are also aware that they will need more squad depth given that the club will be in the Europa Conference League next season.

Chelsea will enter the Europa Conference League at the play-off round stage and face a two-legged tie in August.
