Chelsea have just made the signing of Mike Penders official. The 19-year-old Belgian goalkeeper joins the London club from Genk for a fee of around €20 million. The young 2-metre tall goalkeeper has signed with the Blues until 2032, but he will initially be loaned to his club Genk this season, to continue his development.

“Chelsea Football Club have reached an agreement to sign Mike Penders from KRC Genk”wrote the English club on its official website. With the arrival of the Belgian, Chelsea now has seven goalkeepers under contract in its squad. Upon his return from loan, the Red Devils’ U19 international will surely hope to follow in the footsteps of his elder Thibaut Courtois, who also played for Genk before joining and establishing himself with the Blues.
