Chelsea: the players turn their backs on Mauricio Pochettino!

There is no point going back to the millions and millions spent by Chelsea during the Boehly era, as certain operations are still in our minds. The American owner of the Blues probably thought that spending 115 million euros on Moises Caicedo six months after spending more or less the same sum on Enzo Fernandez would allow his team to shine in the Premier League, but he is far from the mark. The Londoners are in a terrible eleventh place in the Premier League standings.

Catastrophic results, qualification for the next Champions League practically impossible therefore and above all, more than mediocre content during the matches. Obviously, Mauricio Pochettino is the target of numerous criticisms, he who has been taken to task by certain fans, but also by… the partner of Thiago Silva. And the information revealed by The Athletic explain that internally, it is also contested…

The Pochettino method does not go down with the players

As explained by the serious English-speaking media, which relies on internal sources, some players find that the Argentine coach is too limited tactically. The team would be in a sense of self-management, and the players would improvise on the pitch, rather than following any tactical instructions from their coach. Which, given Chelsea’s matches, would surprise no one… The changes during the match – clearly not effective – and his attitude in his technical area were also singled out.

As for the management, it does not yet intend to part ways with him. It is at the end of the season that a decision will have to be made. And this, for two reasons: dismissing Potter during the season last year did not bear fruit, and above all, Pochettino should be compensated financially. And we wouldn’t just be talking about a handful of pounds sterling. Obviously, management is disappointed and had envisioned big things for the team, but Pochettino’s future is not yet in danger in the short/medium term.
