Chiefs-Chargers Wins NFL Week 4 On CBS, But Network Stays Silent Due To Paramount’s Nielsen Contract Dispute

The Kansas City Chiefs continued to solidify its dominance in the NFL, not only besting the Los Angeles Chargers but also once again putting up the best pro football audience of the week on Sunday.

The matchup drew 24.2M viewers on CBS during Sunday’s national window, which is up 3% from last year’s most-watched Week 4 game, which was Fox’s Patriots-Cowboys.

However, CBS won’t be celebrating that win due to parent company Paramount Global’s ongoing dispute with Nielsen. The company’s current contract with the ratings provider has expired, meaning that its networks won’t be disclosing any viewership figures via Nielsen, but they are still being measured.

Ravens-Bills put up a good fight, placing second with 20M viewers for NBC’s Sunday Night Football. That was down year-over-year though, as it couldn’t measure up to when the Chiefs took on the Jets at Metlife Stadium (featuring Taylor Swift).

Fox was in third place with about 17M for its singleheader, which was Eagles-Buccaneers in most markets. And Monday Night Football came in last with 15M on ABC. ESPN’s Titans-Dolphins took home just 5.6M.
