Chris Jericho makes the case for why professional wrestling could be an Olympic sport.

Professional wrestling will not be part of the festivities when the 2024 Olympic Games kick off in Paris on July 26th. However, Chris Jericho believes that the sport could easily be included.

Speaking on the Blocks Podcast with Neal Brennan, Jericho shared his thoughts on the matter.

“I’ve started to really think about how pro wrestling could easily be an Olympic sport,” Chris Jericho said. It’s an athletic display between two people, much like figure skating or synchronized swimming or anything else that’s judged on points. Think about that. I’m from Canada, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, best wrestler in the world from Canada, we put together our routine. You got Will Ospreay and Michael Oku from England, they put together their routine.

“Then you got Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson from the United States, they put together their routine. Then the judges would say, ‘This was the best.’ It doesn’t matter who wins or loses [the match].”
