Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns made his WWE Speed debut on the January 22nd episode, and he advanced to the next round of the Number One Contender’s Tournament.
Sabin faced fellow former WWE Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller on Wednesday’s show. He ultimately picked up the win by pinning Waller with a victory roll. In doing so, he punched his ticket to the next round of the tournament, where he will face Chad Gable of American Made. WWE Speed Champion Dragon Lee will defend his title against the winner.
It’s also worth noting that Corey Graves was back on commentary after he missed the January 14th episode. Graves returned to NXT commentary on the January 21st episode as well.
Sabin then commented on his win in a digital exclusive.
Meanwhile, Sabin and Alex Shelley continue to target the WWE Tag Team Championships, as #DIY beat them to win the gold in December. Sabin and Shelley earned a title shot on the January 17th episode of WWE SmackDown, as they beat Los Garza.
