Christian Eriksen has turned down an approach from Turkey and will remain at Manchester United for the remainder of the season.

Galatasaray had talks with Eriksen ahead of the Turkish transfer window closing on Friday, but neither the player or United were open to the move midway through the season.

However, talkSPORT understands that the Denmark international is one of the players United are ready to consider offers for the summer.

That would come as no surprise since Eriksen is 32 and has had his share of injuries. The midfielder has managed 19 appearances so far this season and Mason Mount’s return from injury could see the Dane get less minutes in the second half the 2023/24 campaign.

On another note, the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo in the first-team should give Eriksen more reason to doubt whether he will have a regular role in the United midfield again.

Eriksen was considered a key player in his debut season at Old Trafford, after joining as a free agent following a spell at Brentford.

At the end of the season, Eriksen will only have a year left on his contract and Ten Hag should be looking to lower the average age of his squad.
