Christina Applegate’s ex-husband, Johnathon Schaech, applauded the actress’ surprise appearance at the 2024 Emmys amid her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).

“She danced opening night on broadway on a broken foot! Beat cancer! She’s the toughest human being I’ve ever met! F–k MS! So proud of her! Go Christina!” the “Blue Ridge” star tweeted Monday.

Schaech, 54, also posted a photo on his Instagram Story of Applegate, 52, posing in her maroon Christian Siriano gown, adding in the caption, “We are so proud of you, Christina.”

The former couple were married from 2001 to 2007.

Both actors have since moved on, with Schaech marrying Julie Solomon in 2013 and Applegate saying “I do” to Martyn LeNoble that same year.

The “Dead to Me” star got the Emmys off to an emotional start Monday when she appeared to present the first award.

Applegate — who was diagnosed with the neurological disease in 2021 — immediately received a standing ovation from the star-studded crowd as she walked onstage with an “FU MS” cane.

The “Married… with Children” alum began to tear up before joking that the audience was “totally shaming” her “by standing up.”

“Body not by Ozempic,” she quipped, referring to the trendy weight-loss drug, and later insisted, “We don’t have to applaud every time I do something.”

Despite Applegate receiving a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for “Dead to Me,” she was not expected to attend the ceremony, as she had previously shared that the 2023 SAG Awards last February would be her “last award show as an actor.”

Applegate announced in August 2021 that she had been diagnosed with the disease a “few months” prior, and she has since spoken out about how her life has changed.

“There are just certain things that people take for granted in their lives that I took for granted. Going down the stairs, carrying things. It f–king sucks,” she told Vanity Fair in May 2023.

The “Bad Moms” actress added that she prefers “quiet” and “mellow” environments over the chaos and hustle of Hollywood these days.
