Christopher Daniels seemingly confirmed his retirement from in-ring competition on the January 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite.
Daniels lost to “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match at AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage on January 18th. Daniels then came to the stage on the January 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite, and he was wearing a neckbrace. He approached Page and said that he never wanted to fight Page.
Daniels told Page that he was wrong, as he let his ego and his insecurities escalate their feud until he accepted Page’s challenge to a match. He said that he would regret that for the rest of his life, because the last Buckshot Lariat that Page hit, combined with the damage he had suffered over the years, led to doctors advising him to never wrestle again.
Daniels said that Page had beaten him in his last match, so this was goodbye. He told Page that he hoped he could be happy now.
