CNN‘s town hall with Kamala Harris drew at least 3.2 million viewers, giving the network a big bounce from its regular audience in the 9 p.m. time period.
The viewership likely will rise when final numbers come in later this afternoon.
That figure is still well below the 7.8 million who watched Fox News’ Bret Baier’s sit down with Harris last week on the network’s Special Report.
The CNN event last just over an hour and was moderated by Anderson Cooper in Pennsylvania. CNN also offered a town hall to Donald Trump but his campaign never accepted. Trump earlier rejected a second debate with Harris, who had accepted. That event would have been held on Wednesday evening and would have been hosted by CNN.
The Source with Kaitlan Collins, which regularly runs in CNN’s 9 p.m. ET slot, averaged 783,000 viewers in the third quarter.
