Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the FA Cup tonight.
The Reds go into the game after losing 2-1 to Fulham last weekend after a late goal from former Arsenal man Alex Iwobi. The result dealt United a huge blow in the race for a top four finish, but Erik ten Hag hopes the team respond tonight by booking a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
It goes without saying that this is a big night for United since the FA Cup is the only option for silverware.
Forest stand in our way.
Coming into the team to face Forest this evening are Sofyan Amrabat, Scott McTominay and Antony – as Kobbie Mainoo and Omari Forson drop to the bench, while Harry Maguire is absent from the squad.
Among the substitutes for the first time tonight is 18-year-old right-back Habeeb Ogunneye, who will become our 250th academy graduate to represent the first team if he gets a chance to come on.
Andre Onana starts between the posts, behind a back four consisting of Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Amrabat. Our French centre-back was considered a doubt ahead of the game, but he has passed fit. Morocco international Amrabat is expected to slot in at left-back.
In midfield, we’ve got Casemiro joined by Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes. Our captain, like Varane, was listed as a doubt for tonight’s game.
United’s front three involves Antony, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.
Manchester United line-up vs Forest: Onana, Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat; Casemiro, McTominay, Fernandes; Antony, Rashford, Garnacho.
