The trial of a former Chairman of the Park Management System in Oyo State, Mukaila Lamidi popularly called Auxiliary, on Thursday, suffered another adjournment as his counsel raised objection to the call of one of the witnesses at the state High Court in Ibadan, the state capital.

The case continued on Wednesday as the prosecution called its seventh witness to testify.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the defence counsel, Olalekan Ojo, objected Inspector Innocent Agade the Command Monitoring Unit, State Command, Eleyele from being led in evidence on the ground that he is yet to be served with witness summary of evidence.

Buttressing his argument with Section 380(ii) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Oyo state, he said that he ought to have been served with the statement prior to the hearing.

“I ought to have been served with the summary of the statement. I need to have copies of photographic compact disc and other materials that the prosecution counsel want to use in support of the case

“But the prosecution counsel, S.O Adeoye, did not make the document available,” he said.

Consequently, the Presiding Judge, Justice Bayo Taiwo, adjourned “the case for further hearing till January 22, 2025 during which the defence counsel would have been duly served.”

According to the charge, the offence is punishable under Section 1(a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act CAP RII Vol 34 of Federation of Nigeria 2004.
