Damian Priest is targeting a Royal Rumble victory next year — if he doesn’t walk into the show as champion.

The former World Heavyweight Champion picked up a victory over Finn Balor at Bad Blood. He looks set to move on from his feud with the Judgement Day, and has one eye on competing in the Royal Rumble match in January.

At the WWE Bad Blood 2024 post show press conference, Damian Priest was asked about potentially entering and winning the Royal Rumble this year.

The former World Heavyweight Champion says it would be cool to win it and main event WrestleMania. He added that it’s just one thing he’s missing so far, which includes winning the Intercontinental Championship, among other things.

However, Damian Priest noted he’s fine with not being in the Royal Rumble this year. The caveat to that being he wins the world title before the event, and defends the title on the show instead.

Damian Priest would rather win the world title and not have to enter the Royal Rumble

“It depends. If I get a world title shot before then, I’m good with not participating in the Royal Rumble, my man.” Damian Priest told the reporter. “But yeah, the Royal Rumble sounds cool. Who doesn’t want to do that so you can main event WrestleMania and then win it there? But if I get my shot before then, I’m good with it.”

“The Royal Rumble is just one of those things that I’m missing. It’s not like I’ve achieved everything yet. That’s the goal. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t. It doesn’t mean I’m going to stop trying. There’s a lot of things, including the Intercontinental title, that I haven’t experienced yet. I’m always thinking about those things.”
